Alyona Medelyan, PhD, is CEO of Thematic, a customer insights platform. We analyze customer feedback to tell companies what drives loyalty and how to prevent churn.

Prior to that Alyona consulted on Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning.

She is an O'Reilly speaker and runs the NLP in NZ meetup. She is the author of the open-source topic indexing tool Maui.

Her Masters is from the University of Freiburg, and her PhD from the University of Waikato (supervised by Ian Witten).

She lives in San Francisco with her husband, Nathan Holmberg, and two children, Maya and Mark.
